About Lubbock Animal Services

The largest animal shelter on the South Plains, Lubbock Animal Services is committed to caring for the more than 15,000 animals annually rescued from Lubbock.

Lubbock Animal Services is an open-door shelter that provides lost and found services, animal adoptions, humane education, cruelty investigations, and enforces the laws regarding animals for the City of Lubbock. Lubbock Animal Services also accept animals from outside the city limits for a fee.

We provide a temporary home for lovable, adorable puppies and kittens, faithful and devoted adult cats and dogs, and just about every other furry, scaly, or feathered species of animal people keep!

In June 2011, The Adoption Center was completed and some Animal Service functions moved into the brand new shelter.  Administration, Adoptions, Identified dogs (microchipped or Identification Tags) and Stray Cats are located at 3323 SE Loop 289.

All Unidentified or non-tagged dogs are currently located at the shelter located at 401 N. Ash.
