The Buddy Holly Center announces The Toon as part of the Summer Showcase Concert Series. The Toon will entertain the audience with a mix of R&B, Rock, Blues, Classic Rock and Country on Thursday, August 1, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in Meadows Courtyard. The concert is FREE and open to the public. A cash bar will be provided. Please, no outside beverages allowed.
The Toon is based in Lubbock, TX, and consists of Rev. Al Warner on bass guitar and vocals; Terry Vincent on the Hammond organ, piano and vocals; Jaime Moreno on drums and vocals; and Tony Adams on lead guitar. Each of the members has a long regional music history, as well as solo music performance experience. The Toon displays their professional experience with ease and are enjoyable to watch.
First Friday Art Trail

On the first Friday of December, the Buddy Holly Center invites the community to participate in Lubbock’s First Friday Art Trail, an event held on the first Friday of every month in venues around the city. Galleries, restaurants and businesses open FREE of charge to display local and regional visual and performing art. A free trolley service to and from venues will be offered.
The First Friday Art Trail works to promote art and outreach within the community of Lubbock by providing an opportunity to enjoy fine art and entertainment. On Friday, December 6, 2013 the Buddy Holly Center will be open from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. for patrons to view its exhibits. There will be FREE admission and a Monoprinting Activity in the Education Space. Refreshments and a cash bar will also be provided. The Buddy Holly Center has partnered with the Texas Tech University Southwest Collection's Crossroads of Music Archive to present West Texas Guitar in the Foyer Gallery. The exhibition features the guitars of notable musicians and songwriters who originated from the West Texas region.
Displayed in the Fine Arts Gallery is the exhibition, Texas Works, featuring the works of Catherine Prose, John Hitchcock and Katherine Liontas-Warren. The exhibition focuses on the creative talents and productions of Texas Artists.
