The City Of Lubbock Cemetery is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. We are closed for lunch from 12:00pm-1:00pm. The office is also closed on Saturdays, Sundays and City Holidays. What are the visitation hours for the Cemetery?
Visitation is allowed during daylight hours (dawn to dusk), seven days a week and on all major holidays.
How do I purchase property?
You can contact our office by calling (806) 767-2270, to purchase property. Staff will be happy to assist you and walk you through the process. Does the City of Lubbock Cemetery also have a Funeral Home?
No, the City Cemetery does not have a funeral home. However, once you contact the funeral home of your choice, the Cemetery will work with them to schedule a funeral service. Does the City of Lubbock Cemetery sell monuments or headstones?
No, the City Cemetery does not sell monuments or headstones. However, once you purchase a monument from a private monument company of your choice, the Cemetery will coordinate the monuments setting with that company. A setting fee of $24 per running foot is charged by the Cemetery for this service.
The City Cemetery does set Veterans Administration (VA) monuments. There is a $25 flat fee for setting a VA Monument.
What burial arrangements costs are associated with the cemetery?
- You must already own property or you must purchase burial property at the Cemetery.
- There is an opening and closing fee charged at the time of disposition. This fee covers the costs to open and close the grave as well as provide a tent and twelve chairs at the funeral service.
All charges must be paid before the final disposition. When will I receive a deed letter?
After ground spaces are paid in full, a deed letter will be issued to you within 4 to 6 weeks. Filing a copy of the deed with the County Clerks Office ensures that it becomes a legal document of record and that it is accessible to you and your family. Can I get a copy the Cemetery policy book?
