Lubbock Fire Department Dive Team

The Lubbock Fire Department’s Dive Team is based out of station  #14.  All 30 members of the team (10 per shift) are advanced open water and rescue divers certified by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). In addition to their normal firefighting duties, the team responds  to life threatening water emergencies, body search and recovery, non-emergency water recoveries within the city limits, and Lake Alan Henry. The City of Lubbock provides mutual aid to the cities of Abernathy, Slaton, Shallowater and Wolfforth when requested.

The team is equipped with encapsulating dry suits, full face masks, underwater communications gear, Marine Sonic side scan sonar, 17 foot zodiac boat, 28 foot pontoon boat, and custom dive truck with equipment for up to 8 divers.
