Cecily Smith-Maples


Cecily Smith-Maples was born in Fukuoka, Japan where her father was an American consul on the southern island of Kyushu. Cecily travelled extensively throughout her childhood and later obtained an MFA in Ceramics from Claremont Graduate School in 1979. Cecily is the founder of the ARTary.

The ARTary has been in business since 1992 and has always had  production pottery as part of its ventures. Pottery supply and equipment sales and recreational teaching were the other business areas.
