The Garden and Arts Center is a proud member of the First Friday Art Trail and thrives to display the work of local artists, artisans, and crafters. The opening or closing reception date for exhibitions takes place during the First Friday of each month, unless otherwise stated.

Watercolors by JoBeth Gilliam

Jo Beth Gilliam is a Lubbock, Texas native and has been painting 40 plus years. Her first watercolor class in 1982 began an exciting journey, developing her loose and colorful style. Jo Beth has won numerous awards including publications. ‘Santa Fe Morning’ was selected for the Splash 10 Best of Watercolor, 2008, North Light Book publication along with ‘Hats Off’ which appears in 2012, Artist Touch. Commissions for brochures, telephone book covers, magazine covers and articles appear with her recognizable style.

Artist Statement:
The first brush load of color on white paper and I was hooked. Hopefully the excitement and feeling of a chosen subject will be conveyed to the viewer. My challenge remains to paint the next creative idea
better than the last.
