Under Texas state law, you are classified as a juvenile if you are under the age of 17 or are now 17 or older but received a citation when you were under the age of 17.
- You must appear in court before a judge before paying a fine on a juvenile case.
- All juvenile cases must be set for juvenile court.
- You must appear in court with a parent or a legal guardian (guardianship documentation required).
- The dress code is strictly enforced for all persons appearing in court.
All persons appearing in court must be dressed in a manner that shows respect for court and its proceedings. The City of Lubbock Municipal Court reserves the right to remove people from the courtroom if they are inappropriately dressed. Unacceptable attire includes: shorts, tank tops, caps/hats, torn jeans, midriff shirts, drooping pants, and clothing containing offensive/ obscene language.
