6th Annual Pumpkin Trail 2014 ~ General Information

Lubbock Pumpkin TrailTHURSDAY-SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16-19, 2014
Bring your families and friends and walk along a lighted trail of carved jack-o-lanterns in the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum in Clapp Park. Stroller and wheelchair accessible.  Admission is free!  Last year, citizens donated 1,773 pumpkins and attendance was over just over 17,000 people!  We are excited about a bigger and better trail in 2014.  Two entrances:  Lubbock Memorial Arboretum at 4111 University and the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center at 4215 University.  This event is sponsored by City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation, the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum, and the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center.  For more information, call “Pumpkin Central” at Hodges Community Center, 806-767-3706.

We need your carved pumpkins for our community-built Pumpkin Trail!  You provide the pumpkin, and we’ll provide the candles.  Be a part of this wonderful family tradition!  For more information, click on Donate Pumpkins!

Groups bringing 10 or more pumpkins will have a sign posted along the trail with their name or logo.  Call Hodges Community Center in advance at 806-767-3706 and let us know how many pumpkins you are bringing so we can build towards our goal.  We’ll be broadcasting updates on our Pumpkin Count as we get closer to the event.  We cannot guarantee pumpkin placement together on the trail unless pumpkins are delivered at the same time and marked on the back.
In order to keep the carved pumpkins fresh throughout the entire event, we ask that the pumpkins be carved no earlier than Monday, October 13.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15 – 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM
Deliver carved pumpkins to the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum at 4111 University on the east side of the parking lot.  Look for the “DELIVER PUMPKINS HERE” signs.

We need volunteer groups to help with this year’s Pumpkin Trail for candle lighters, trail guides and counters.  We are also looking for sponsors to help defray the costs of security, parking shuttles and supplies. For more information go to Volunteers, Sponsorships or call 767-3796!
