98th Street & Frankford Avenue Regional Drainage Basin

Regional Detention Basin Feasibility Study 

The Major objectives for the feasibility study were: 
  • preliminary basin configurations were developed with the preliminary plat and study plans for Day Estates, Lakewood Estates, and Lakewood Villas
  • preliminary basin sizes and grading established to minimize overall depth, ensure adequate capacity including freeboard to detain storm water runoff resulting from the 100-yr, 24-hour event, and ensure adequate grade available for tributary sub-areas
  • proposed 36" storm sewer, to be constructed in 98th Street right-of-way, will convey detained storm water runoff from the detention basins to Playa Lake No. 93, located southwest of the intersection of 98th Street and Slide Road
  • potential exists to extend storm sewer laterals to intersection of 98th Street and Frankford Ave.

Cost: $2,500,000
City Participation: $1,000,000
