City Prosecutor's Office and Nothin' Butt Smokes Agreement Reached

The City Prosecutor’s Office and Nothin’ Butt Smokes have reached an agreement to resolve citations recently filed against the business in connection with the seizure of numerous herbal aromatherapy products, alleged by the police to violate the City’s prohibition against illicit synthetic drugs.

 

Nothin’ Butt Smokes has voluntarily agreed to stop selling the substances seized by the Lubbock Police in March, 2013.

 

These products include the following:

- Baraboo Shotz

- Texas Twister

- Fallen Angel

- Comfortably Numb

- Devil’s Advocate

- Orale

- Fubar

- Red Devil

- Myle High

 

The City will monitor Nothin’ Butt Smokes to ensure continued compliance with this agreement.

 

The City continues to work with the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab to identify illicit synthetic drugs and to develop testing procedures and protocols to identify and remove banned substances from city streets.

 

Nothin’ Butt Smokes continues to work with its suppliers and with local law enforcement to ensure that the products it sells do not violate local, state, or federal law. While Nothin’ Butt Smokes believes that the listed products comply with federal, state and local laws, it has agreed to remove these products from its shelves in the interest of cooperating with the City of Lubbock in achieving the ultimate goal of ensuring the safety of the general public. Nothin’ Butt Smokes will continue to work with the City of Lubbock in all aspects of this issue and will continue to comply with all applicable laws.
