Growing leadership skills and being a positive role model have never been more fun than being a part of the Summer Camp Counselor in Training (CIT) Leadership Program at Hodges Community Center! This summer, a group of ten enthusiastic teens will be selected to experience life as a CIT during Parks and Recreation’s summer day camps. Interested teens ages 13-15 are encouraged to apply no later than Noon on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The first scheduled interviews will be held on May 18, with additional interviews scheduled as needed early the following week. Selections for the program will be made by Friday, May 24, 2013. Applications can be picked up at Hodges Community Center. If selected, there is a $30 per week fee for camp attendance that includes lunch, snacks, swimming and field trips.
After being selected for the program, participants will be involved in leadership training and community service projects during summer camp. Responsibilities will also include leading activities, assisting younger campers with projects and games, performing skits and helping counselors prepare materials and snacks. This program is designed for teens to learn valuable employment skills and responsibility while having fun throughout the summer!
