As a result of the damage from Wednesday’s thunderstorms, County Judge Tom Head and Mayor Glen Robertson have declared a state of disaster for Lubbock County and the City of Lubbock. The primary purpose for this declaration is to qualify the County and City for emergency funding, if the amount of uninsured damage exceeds $961,967.00. The joint declaration takes effect immediately and will last seven days. It is expected that the Commissioners Court and the City Council will renew the declaration during meetings next week.
