Eleven years ago, Patricia Vonne embarked upon a career as a singer/songwriter--the perfect outlet for her varied talents and boundless artistic energy. Vonne returned to her Texas roots after almost a decade in the Big Apple, landing in the state capital, just up the highway from her childhood home in San Antonio. She and husband/collaborator Robert LaRoche began the methodical climb from near obscurity in the vibrant and competitive Austin music scene. In 2002, she released her debut album, a bilingual gem that earned universal glowing reviews. In 2004, she entered the studio to record her second album Guitars and Castanets, filled with romantic tales of adventure and heartfelt ballads of life on both sides of the border. In late 2006, she released another album Firebird, an eleven-track disc marked by exceptional songwriting and first-rate musicianship (www.patriciavonne.com). Her newest album Rattle My Cage, will feature collaborations with renowned artists Alejandro Escovedo, Rosie Flores, Doyle Bramhall Sr., Michael Martin, Alex Ruiz and Johnny Reno. Patricia Vonne “has absorbed just about every indigenous musical style Texas has [to] offer,” notes the Houston Press “…and can summon anyone in the flick of a castanet or guitar pick.” The crowd can expect songs in English and Spanish and a “talent to melt the coldest heart” (The Sun). Patricia Vonne’s concert cannot be missed!
