The Buddy Holly Center is excited to present global artist Ginger Leigh performing for the first time at the Summer Showcase Concert Series, the weekly Thursday night concert held in the Meadows Courtyard. On July 18, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Ginger Leigh will perform Rock, Latin, Pop, Blues and Jazz music. The concert is FREE and open to the public. There will be a cash bar. Please, no outside beverages allowed.
Ginger Leigh is a chanteuse-like female Elvis with a Bette Midler ability to make you laugh and cry. Leigh appeals to both men and women, young and old. Her strongest message is about living outside the box. She manages to deliver this message with contemporary powerful up-beat rhythms and melodies that come from her varied background in jazz, country, R&B and a family of professional musicians going back 5 generations. Ginger Leigh has self-released 9 CD’s since 1996. She is prolific, driven and generous. You will often find her assembling other musicians for causes, her own concert-series “Love. on the Lawn” established in 2003 and for international touring in Italy. She is in constant celebration of life’s questions and struggles. Her music is empowering, thus allowing her to be a chameleon in the genre-based world of the music business. You might catch Ginger Leigh performing at a country music festival, a folk festival, a rock or jazz club making her point about living without definitions. She does this with a piercing clarity, power and seduction as irresistible as the blue eyes with which she sings to you from the stage (http://gleigh.com/about/).
