The City of Lubbock would like to remind everyone that while dogs are welcome at city parks, it is against the law to allow your dog to run at large. According to the City of Lubbock Code of Ordinances Chapter 4, Section 4.01.001, an At Large animal off the owner’s premises is defined as:
“Any animal which is not physically and continually restrained by some person by means of a leash or chain of proper strength and length that precludes the animal from making unsolicited contact with any person, their clothing, their property, or their premises.”
Also, the City would like remind everyone that there are no designated dog parks located within the city limits of Lubbock. Animals taken to any city park must be on a leash.
If your dog is not being restrained by a leash, you may receive a citation and a fine of up to $500.
