With the warmer months upon us, the City of Lubbock wants to remind citizens that driving or parking vehicles on the grass or landscaping located in a City park or on City property is prohibited by the City of Lubbock Code of Ordinances Section 16.01.004(6).  Driving on park property results in damage to both turf and irrigation sprinkler systems and can result in costly repairs. Citizens should hand carry items from the street or parking lot to the interior of a park.  This is also true for local businesses that offer bounce houses, climbing walls, tents, and other large items for party rentals or other activities in our City parks. In addition, citizens should not park on the grass surrounding soccer fields and softball, baseball and little league ball fields.  City of Lubbock Police Officers are able to ticket anyone parking or driving on City park land.
