THE GLIDER

TheGlider

Sebastian, aka The Glider, is the Education and Volunteer Coordinator for both the Buddy Holly Center and the Silent Wings Museum. He graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD in 2014 with majors in history and math. While at school, he discovered how much he enjoyed working in an educational setting for both children and adults. Sebastian began to work with South Dakota Achieve to help immigrants to the United States learn to read, and he also worked with underprivileged youth in after school programs throughout his time in college. When he graduated college, Sebastian combined his desire to provide educational resources for the community with the thrill of museum work by finding a job with the San Francisco 49ers education program. He worked there for a year as a museum educator, developing educational programming and doing community outreach, largely with Title I schools. Sebastian is very happy to be with the Buddy Holly Center and Silent Wings Museum and he hopes that he can continue to add to the great programs that have been previously established.
