Caboose Watercolor Society
August 4, 2017 - August 25, 2017

The Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center (GAC) will host a reception on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the opening of Caboose Watercolor Society. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

In October 1997 the Caboose group was formed by artists Kay Smith and Linda Rupard, whose studios were a boxcar and yellow caboose respectively in Big Spring's historic downtown. Their friend Carole Berry joined them in setting goals to promote professional watercolor as a business and to work at enhancing skills/abilities in handling the medium.  This year 2017 marks a twenty year milestone for the watercolorists.

Membership is by invitation only.  There are no dues, no regular meetings, or juried shows. Conflicts are not allowed and must be resolved privately.  Any three artists can set up a get together to paint, critique our work or do demos.  We have several local or traveling exhibits annually in which to promote our exciting and splashy watercolors.

Members now total seven and are Kay Smith, Linda Rupard, Carole Berry, Sue Bagwell, Leada Wood, Estelle Howard, and Susie Powell.

With our blog http://caboosewatercolorsociety.blogspot.com/ we hope to inspire others to tackle the medium and check out our work and get to know us better.
