Water Education Program Resources
Information On Our Classroom Education Program
The City of Lubbock Water Utilities Conservation and Education Department offers conservation education programs for area students grades PK-12. Our program provides an opportunity for young people to participate in engaging, hands-on activities that creatively explore the science of water and the complex issues surrounding it’s management and stewardship. Our program also focuses on other conservation issues including recycling, use of natural resources, and solid waste issues.
The Conservation Education Program offers over twenty different lesson plans available for teachers to use for students of all ages.
Whether our children grow up and live in or around Lubbock or in some other distant place, water use and conservation will be one of the greatest challenges they will face.
Our Education Program Information for Adults
The Conservation Education program is also dedicated to educating adults through various workshops and events. When requested, our department will do presentations for church groups, garden groups, and neighborhood association groups. When possible the Education team has displays at local events such as, Home and Garden Show, Habitat for Humanity Classes and Parade of Homes. These events give us an opportunity to educate citizens on city ordinances and conservation tips as well as, answer any questions citizens may have regarding conservation, water supply information, and compliance issues. To schedule a presentation please call the Conservation Education Team at 806-775-2586.
