Moving to a different location within the city
Call us in advance at (806) 775-2509 so we can continue to give you uninterrupted service. To transfer service from one address to another, we need to know your LWU account number, your new address and your new telephone number.
Moving out of the city
If you are moving out of the City of Lubbock, please call us at (806) 775-2509 and tell us when you want to discontinue service at your old address. If you paid a security deposit, the deposit plus interest will be credited to your final bill. If there is a remaining balance due to you, it will be mailed to you at your new address.
If you anticipate a refund, be sure and have your forwarding address, zip code and LWU account number ready for the customer service representative.

Emergency services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. To request help for any of the following emergencies, please call (806) 775-2588:
- Emergency water turn-off
- Report a water meter leak
- Water main break
- Fire hydrant leak
- Clogged sewer
- Overflowing sewer
Past Due Bills
When a bill is not paid before the next billing date, the past due amount will appear on the next bill. If the past due bill becomes delinquent, a termination notice will be mailed.
Customers who receive a termination notice must pay their bill in our office at 1301 Broadway. The termination notice will indicate the last day the bill can be paid before service is discontinued. Call us at (806) 775-2509 with any inquiries.

or pay by phone at (806)775-3409. Payments made prior to 5 p.m. will be posted the same business day; Monday – Friday.
If You Can't Pay Your Bill...
We know that financial emergencies can arise unexpectedly. If this happens to you, contact a LWU Customer Service representative at (806) 775-2509 who can refer you to other agencies who may be able to help. If you have maintained a good credit history with us, we will help you with a payment arrangement.
Water service may be terminated for any of the following reasons:
- Failure to pay a bill
- Failure to pay a requested deposit
- Failure to arrange payment of a returned check
- Unauthorized connection to the water supply system
- Tampering with meters or other LWU equipment
- Violation of any water or wastewater-related City of Lubbock ordinances
- When a customer creates a hazardous condition by leaving water on too long
